Guiding Question:
Can kids make a difference tackling climate change? - Absolutely!
Gavin began our inquiry looking at ways our school could be more environmentally friendly.
From there, he researched climate change in the world and gathered, interpreted, and organized ideas around whether or not kids can make a difference when it comes to climate change. He came up with a S.M.A.R.T goal to improve his families' environmental footprint over the next 5 years.
Gavin also wrote a beautiful essay to share his thinking and learning.

My generation is the next to take control and to make change. It is important for my generation to be aware of the negative effects of plastics on climate change. I learned that there are a lot more damage than we are aware. Even if it's something small, kids can try to make a difference. Even if it's something as small as researching how to properly recycle different materials, you are making a difference. I wrote a paper in English where my main argument was that regardless of age, you can make an impact on Earth. With this project, I learned the extent to which kids are already making an impact, and how even small changes have big impacts. ~ Gavin
