The Career and Technical Education (CTE) PATHWAYS at SHS provide rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and the relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare students for further education and careers.
Students graduate with industry recognized credentials and certifications as well as work-based learning experiences including cooperative education and internships. Over the last two years SHS CTE has received an additional $300,000+ of equipment and supplies from MA Capital grants. SHS is currently undergoing renovation in two of its programs, Culinary Arts, with improvements to the Black Cat Kitchen and new equipment, and Medical Assisting to expand the classrooms needed for growth and upgraded equipment and supplies.
Programming and Web Development will be a new option available to students in SY2021. SHS is currently designing and purchasing materials for this new and upcoming pathway. Additionally, Perkins and the city budget have allowed us to fund new equipment and repairs for Early Education and Care, Auto Technology, Carpentry, Building Property and Maintenance and Electricity.
Salem High School is committed to the continuous effort to upgrade and expand our CTE programs offering our students modern equipment, updated facilities and the skills needed to succeed in a global economy. We are proud to offer these opportunities to Salem High School students to meet the needs of all types of learners and interests.
