Independent Reading
Independent reading is an integral part of a child's education. Please ensure that your child is reading for at least 20-30 minutes each night. In addition to reading, students are expected to complete an Independent Reading Book Activity every week. This will be checked and graded as a classwork OR homework assignment (2,1,0) every Friday.
We encourage you to review the books your children are choosing to read. Students are expected to have an independent reading book in class everyday.
Nonfiction Article of the Week
Nonfiction article of the Week is a opportunity for students to read engaging, up-to-date, news articles across content areas with integrated, standards-based assessments.
Each week, students will be assigned one Nonfiction Article of the Week to complete. The assignments are given on a Monday and are due on Friday.
