Grammar and spelling skills are the
building blocks of the English language!
We need to master these skills in order to do anything else!
Grammar and spelling skills are incorporated into our reading and writing units all year long.
Small grammar and/or word attack skill packets will be used as a focus point for our current skill set.
Spelling and punctuation count all the time!
Some of the grammar topics we will learn in 6th grade are:
basic parts of speech
simple and complete subjects and predicates
compound and complex sentences
