Phonics: The phonics program that we utilize is IMSE's multi-sensory approach to the Orton-Gillingham method. The general overview is that students are taught to segment words in order to break down and blend phonetically, thereby giving them the ability to master, versus memorize, the ability to read and write new words. Students are instructed in ways to use all of their senses to create strong letter/sound connections.
