PLEASE READ: IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT EXTERNAL COURSES

Students are able to take up to 40 outside credits through accredited, non-CVUSD schools. Dual enrollment credits taken through Moorpark, Oxnard, and Ventura colleges do NOT count against the 40 credit limit.

While students are able to take outside courses, WHS counselors and staff are unable to recommend specific programs, approve of outside courses, or determine whether an outside course will meet A-G eligibility criteria. Please take the appropriate steps necessary to ensure you are taking the correct course/semester of a course, the course meets the appropriate A-G criteria, and the external school is accredited.

WHS counselors are happy to assist with questions related to WHS coursework. Student and families assume the sole responsibility of determining whether an outside school/course is appropriate to meet the graduation and post-secondary needs of a student.

Have you completed your external/summer school course?

Once an external course is complete, please order an official transcript to be sent directly from the summer school/external school program to our WHS registrar. Official transcripts will be accepted electronically or via sealed snail mail. Electronic transcripts should be emailed to the WHS Registrar at WHS-registrar@conejousd.org.

We are unable to accept transcripts sent from a student or parent/guardian to WHS.

Classes labeled as "credit recovery", "remedial", or "prescriptive" cannot be taken for initial credit.

As a final note, as our students are seeking opportunities to get ahead, please be sure to look at the CVUSD Course Directory to ensure all requirements are being met for the next level course your student is hoping to take following the “get ahead” course they are taking over the summer. For 9th and 10th grade students, please be aware that our 11th-12th grade students have priority for enrollment in many of our classes. Therefore, taking a class over the summer does not guarantee enrollment in the next level course the following school year.
