CLASSROOM PROCEDURES:

  • COLLABORATION: we want students to be confident, to be self-reliant and learn from each other, not be dependent on one another
  • SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT: RESPECT is the most important rule in this classroom! Bathroom breaks should be kept to a minimum and should be brief. Food and drink are permitted with the expectation that students clean up after themselves.
  • HOMEWORK: This is an elective, so students will have ample time in class to finish assignments, however sometimes they will need to work on projects at home (like their first project: interviewing someone they know)
  • MATERIALS/TECHNOLOGY: we will use the I-4 lab frequently. Phones, laptops, and devices are permitted for appropriate tasks. Music with headphones is also permitted. Magazines will be our textbooks since we will be creating the Literary Lancer at the end of the year as our final project.
