A little bit about Mrs. Maturo...
I am very excited to be starting my 26th year of teaching at Sequoia!
Through those many years, I have taught English, U.S. History, Medieval History and ASB. This year, I am thrilled to also be teaching this "EPIC Wellness" electives class!
My students' social, emotional and physical wellbeing has always been my top priority and I am so happy that we now have a class to teach students more about these topics and help them thrive in all areas of their lives!
Having grown up attending CVUSD, earning a BA in Political Science at Cal Poly SLO, a teaching credential at Sierra Nevada College, and a MS in Counseling and Guidance at CLU, I consider myself to be a lifelong learner. I love to read & study about a variety of topics and I hope to instill that joy of learning in my students. One of my favorite quotes is, "Never stop learning because life never stops teaching."
In addition to teaching, my favorite thing to do is spending time with my husband, twin daughters & our cat, Sachi. We love to travel, hike, go to the beach, watch movies and sunsets, and just hang out and laugh together.
