Mrs. Maturo's 7th Grade Medieval History Class

Welcome to 7th grade social studies 😊

I am so happy you are in this class!

Clearly, we are starting the school year off in very unique circumstances. Please read about how we will approach this under the "Blended Learning" tab above.

Once we get underway, you will access information about our zoom meetings & activities through CANVAS instead of from this website.

I look forward to getting to know you while we study about the Middle Ages together this year!

In the meantime, if you're curious, you can read a little bit about me below.

A little bit about Mrs. Maturo...

I am very excited to be starting my 25th year of teaching at Sequoia!

Through those many years, I have taught English, U.S. History, Medieval History and ASB.

7th grade social studies is one of my favorite subjects because my students and I get to take a virtual tour around the world and learn about the interesting things that happened and the fascinating people who lived during what is often called "The Middle Ages" or "Medieval Times." My goal is to help students make connections between what happened during this period of history and our lives today.

Having grown up attending CVUSD, earning a BA in Political Science at Cal Poly SLO, a teaching credential at Sierra Nevada College, and a MS in Counseling and Guidance at CLU, I consider myself to be a lifelong learner. I love to read & study about a variety of topics and I hope to instill that joy of learning in my students. You can read a couple of interesting quotes about learning below.

In addition to teaching, my favorite thing to do is spending time with my husband, twin daughters & our cat, Sachi. We love to travel, hike, go to the beach, watch movies and sunsets, and just hang out and laugh together... πŸ™‚
