First Grade
Welcome to First Grade!
This will be an exciting year for you and your child! We are looking forward to meeting you, and encourage you to take an active role in your child’s education.
Your family can look forward to a terrific year with many new experiences! We will continue to implement CVUSDs Treasures Language Arts curriculum, along with the Math Curriculum, Go Math. We will also continue the implementation of the district’s writing curriculum, Step Up to Writing. We will start our year by reviewing letters, sounds, numbers, as well as beginning our first social studies unit on America, the Beautiful!
Parents and guardians are the most important people in a child’s life – for you were their first teachers! We look forward to working with you for the benefit of your child. It is our hope that each of our students will grow academically, learn to appreciate the value of friendship, and become thoughtful, responsible individuals this year.
