Advancement Via Individual Determination
AVID is a student-centered program designed to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college, career, and life. In the AVID Elective class, students receive academic, social, and emotional support to succeed in TOHS's most rigorous courses. Students hone their skills in reading, writing, inquiry, collaboration, and organization.

What AVID Is Not

A remedial course
A study hall
An intervention program
AVID is designed to support students who are pursuing success by providing additional skills and a family environment to reach their greatest potential.
