Region Choir 2025
Region Choir is an optional process to be in a select choir of students from all of TMEA Region 32. Our region includes all of Leander ISD, Eanes ISD, Marble Falls ISD, Burnet ISD, Liberty Hill ISD, and Lake Travis ISD.
If you choose to audition for the region choir, you will receive the music and learning tracks to begin learning the music on your own. We do not learn these pieces in class. We will hold sectionals every Wednesday after school to assist you in the process. These are not mandatory, but very helpful. We do require that you attend at least two before auditions, as well as the mock audition.
Leander MS also hosts a “Bootcamp” to help students from around the district with the music. Students are encouraged to come work on their music with other students and directors from around the district.
On the Friday before auditions, we will know exactly what parts of each song you will be singing for the audition. We will meet before school for a mock audition to practice the whole audition process so that you’re ready!
On audition day, you will meet us at Cedar Park MS at 7:30am for auditions. We will both be there for auditions, but we will be running the auditions, so we may not be available to you at all times. We will need chaperones for this event. Cell phones must be turned off for this event.
You will receive your audition number by voice part when you check in. The whole audition room will run through the music together. You cannot practice after that run through. You will wait in a room until your number is called, then you will line up and be led to the audition room by a chaperone. When it is your turn, you will walk into the room. There will be a divider so that the judges cannot see you. The music will start and you will sing the part of the songs we went over during the mock audition. When you are done, you will leave the room.
As soon as your audition is over, you are good to leave CPMS. We will post the students who made the choir on our website and in the Google Classroom.
If you make the choir, you will perform at the TMEA Region 32 Clinic and Concert at Lake Travis High School. During that day, you will be with all the other students who made the choir. You will be working with AMAZING choir directors from around the country to come together as a choir for your performance in the afternoon. Your families and supporters will come for the performance in the afternoon. They do not need to buy tickets. After the performance, you can leave with your family. They will have recordings and merch available for purchase.
Below is a list of all of the after school sectionals. We will meet from 4:30 to 5:30. Remember, you do not have to come to all of them, but must attend at least two as well as the mock audition on October 24. These rehearsals are VERY helpful to prepare for the choir.
