Associate Principal Amanda Toon

Hello Vipers!

I have been a member of the Leander ISD family since 2017 when I joined the Henry MS staff as an Assistant Principal. The following year, I became a Viper (for the first time).  I spent two incredible years working as an Assistant Principal at Vandegrift before making a shift to work at the District as the Coordinator of Secondary Intervention for Leander ISD for two years. I missed working with my Viper family, and soon found my way back to Vandegrift in 2022.  I am now in my 7th year at Vandegrift HS, and I couldn't be happier.  One of my favorite quotes is, "Once a Viper, always a Viper!" and it couldn't be more true.  The experiences that I have had the privilege to be a part of at VHS are some of the most treasured memories I have. 

I earned my Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Concordia University and my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Special Education from the University of California at Riverside where I also enjoyed being a student athlete playing volleyball. I am a proud mom of 3 boys, all of whom have attended LISD schools. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my children and binging Star Wars and Marvel movies/shows as a family.  I also love baking, reading, and spending as much time as possible outdoors with friends and family.
