BVI-Summer 2024
Dear Families,
Welcome to the wonderful world of QUEST! I am thrilled to be the QUEST teacher of Steiner Ranch Elementary!
I have been around Steiner Ranch Elementary for quite some time. I taught first grade here way back in 1998, before having my own three boys. I have Harry (recent Rice University graduate and Software Engineer at Capital One In Chicago), Alex (Junior at University of Oklahoma) and Ian (Freshman at University of Oklahoma) and they keep me very busy. I treasured my time at home with my boys! During my time at home, I also worked as a Language Arts Expert for a company called Academic Benchmarks, doing alignment of the state standards to educational materials. Most recently, before coming back to Steiner 13 years ago, I had the honor of teaching music and movement and Three Year Olds at Peace Preschool. I had the pleasure in the last eight years of having many of your QUESTERS in my second grade class and am so excited to have them again to explore and learn together!
I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Missouri State University.
My many years of experience with children, both my students and my own, has helped shape my philosophy of teaching. I believe children learn best when the student learning is engaging and challenging, they are encouraged to think critically, and they are given time to reflect on what they’ve learned. Gifted and Talented children have specific needs and I have great passion for making sure those needs are met.
I look forward to getting to know all of you. Your children and I will build a classroom community where everyone strives to set high goals for themselves, works hard to meet those goals, and celebrates successes!
Communication is the key component of having a great year. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. My classroom door is always open. Please come on by!
Sincerely,
Anne Witt
Hello!
I am so excited to be teaching QUEST at LWBE and SRE! This is my ninth year as an educator, my fifth year at Bush, and my fourth year teaching QUEST.
I grew up in Kerrville, a small town in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, where I was active in many sports including volleyball, basketball, cheer, and track. During the summers I spent my time as a lifeguard and swim instructor, which is where my passion for teaching began.
I attended college at The University of Southern Mississippi on a full athletic scholarship to run track, then transferred to Texas Tech my junior year and graduated with a degree in Exercise & Sports Science. I received my teaching certification in 2003 through Region XIII here in Austin.
Austin is also where I met my husband, Brant. We have lived in Steiner for 20 years and have loved the community and raising our children here.
I look forward to the 2025-2026 school year and working with your children!
Sincerely,
Jenni Winterbottom
