Suicide Prevention Awareness Month — Start the Conversation, Save a Life
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind one another that talking about mental health can make a meaningful difference. As parents and caregivers, you play an important role in creating a safe space where students feel comfortable sharing what they are experiencing.
We encourage you to take a few minutes to look over the attached flyer, which highlights warning signs to be aware of, ways you can offer support, and resources for getting help. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to start the conversation. Asking a young person how they are doing, listening without judgment, and letting them know they are not alone can be powerful first steps.
Together, we can help our students feel seen, supported, and never alone.
