Exams for Acceleration test registration and windows are set by the district for students in grades K–12. Tests must be taken and scores must be received prior to the start of the course to accelerate, except in Kindergarten they will test by September deadline specified below.. Parents MUST complete the LEANDER ISD EA APPROVAL FORM for the child to test. A form must be completed for EACH exam the child is taking.

Info for FALL Testing:
Students must achieve a score of 80% or higher to accelerate or receive credit.
Kindergarten exams:
If a student took the EA for Kindergarten this summer, they cannot retest in the Fall.
Newly enrolled Kindergarten students testing in September may accelerate to first grade if they pass both the English and Math tests.
High School exams are for course credit and can not be used to move a student into a new class this semester.

Important Notes & Testing Guidelines:
Kindergarten: Testing for newly enrolled students will not be available until the Fall registration window. There is not a summer testing option for Kinder entering the district. This will take place during the Fall Window on campus.
5th Grade Math: 5th-grade math-only EA exams are not eligible for registration. Students must register for all four core exams to qualify for grade-level advancement.
Scoring & Eligibility: Testing is for Leander ISD students only. Students must achieve a score of 80% or higher on all four exams to qualify for grade-level acceleration. Students will not be able to retake any exams for acceleration.
Registration is for whole grade level acceleration only
All exams are electronic.
Students use their own device; in-person testers without one will be provided a laptop.
Testing in June is only available for currently enrolled students.
New enrollees cannot register for EA exams through the district.
Retakes are not allowed. Only the first score counts.

For All SUMMER Exam for Acceleration Tests, parents will receive an email with a link to sign up for a specific testing time within the testing window. All exams will be electronic for Summer testing and students will use their own devices. If students do not have a device, a laptop will be provided This will be the last opportunity for students to test for grade-level advancement next year. Once the exams are ordered, the exams are not reimbursed if a student does not take the exam. Unfortunately, there is not a make-up day after the testing window closes.
Students taking 3rd - 12th-grade exams that are not available during the testing windows can order an exam through UT and complete it remotely. ***Note that this option is not available for K-2 students.
