Leander ISD once again is supporting interested District students in Grades 3–12 to participate in Destination Imagination (DI).
What Is Destination Imagination? – English
What Is Destination Imagination? – Spanish
Parents of students interested in participating need to submit their completed registration forms to Hope Scallan, Camacho Elementary DI Facilitator, no later than Oct. 1, 2025. Teams not forming by the October 1, 2025 date will not be able to use LISD funding.
The Regional DI tournament is on Saturday, Feburary 7, 2026 in West, Texas (north of Waco.) Teams will need to provide their own transportation to the meet if they elect to compete. All team members and Team Managers will also need to be available that day to attend. There are two parts to the competition, plus the evening award ceremony.
Please also consider that each team must have 1–2 parents sign up as team manager(s)/co-manager, and each team must have two all-day volunteer appraisers (think friendly judges) and another volunteer spot for part of the day in order to compete. Also, any parent who will be working directly with the students (manager/co-manager) must complete a DI background check and be vetted as LISD Volunteers. Teams CANNOT form without at least one adult manager for each team. Mrs. Scallan will coordinate with the campus team(s) to meet one day after school each week for at least an hour. All team members should be available to compete on the date of the regional tournament, and should your team advance to Lonestar Finals, be available to compete on those dates as well.
