Leander ISD utilizes the Workshop Model for English Language Arts (ELA) to build independent, active, and joyful readers and writers. Rather than relying on traditional, lecture-heavy instruction, this student-centered framework divides class time into short, targeted lessons followed by substantial blocks of independent practice, teacher/student conferencing, and small group instruction.
Students will spend time learning about their teacher, each other, and classroom expectations.
