Meet Mrs. Flores
I grew up in Needville, TX and went to college at Sam Houston State University. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Academic Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching for 21 years- 16 years in Kindergarten and 5 years in Preschool/Pre-K. This will be my fourth year at Cox.
I love being in the classroom and having fun while teaching- I always make it my own personal goal to keep my students engaged and motivated. My goal for my students is for them to know that I will provide a safe, caring environment with a positive learning experience!
Outside of school I love to spend time with my family- My husband and I love to cheer for our daughter while she's dancing with the Black Diamonds & singing in varsity choir at Henry Middle School, have family movie nights, and take trips to the beach.

Meet Ms. Maria
My name is Maria Puentes and I am extremely excited to help you kiddos thrive in school, maintain a positive attitude, and help create an effective learning environment. This will be my fifth school year working at Cox Elementary. Prior to that, I worked with children of all ages for over 10 years as a day-care provider and caregiver.
My family and I have moved from NJ to Texas in 2020 and have enjoyed every moment of it.
For fun, I like to spend my free time with my family, which includes my husband and seven year old son. I am also a Dog Mom. Besides family fun, I enjoy outdoor activities, such as running, hiking and always looking for new adventures.
