Sign up for Guardian email Summaries from Google Classroom

When Guardians (Parents) join Classroom, they receive regular email summaries for each of their students. Guardians choose the frequency of the emails—daily or weekly—and can unsubscribe at any time. Guardian email summaries include:

Missing work—Work that’s late at the time the email was sent

Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or work that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails)

Class activity—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers

To sign up for Guardian email Summaries, send an email to michael.hauenstein@leanderisd.org and include the following:

Your Full Name

Your Student's Name

Your Guardian information will be added to your student's information in Google Classroom, and you will receive an email with an official invitation to join. When a Guardian accepts the invitation, the Guardian’s email is linked to the student in all of their classes, so you only have to do this one time. All verified teachers and administrators will be able to see the student’s guardian. After a guardian accepts the invitation, a confirmation email will be sent and the guardian’s full name will show next to the student’s name in Google Classroom. For privacy, students don’t see the names of other students’ guardians.

Ask your child about Google Classroom

Parents can get access to Google Classroom to view assignments and other class information. To do this, you will have to acquire your student's school email address and their Google password. LISD limits access to the Google Classroom sites as part of safety and security measures, so the only people who have access are those with a district email address.
