MEET THE TEACHER:
My name is Magan Escamilla. I am a proud Texas Tech Red Raider, ag teacher, FFA advisor and mom! I am beginning my 12th year of teaching, with all years as a Vandegrift Viper. Most days you will also see my dog Watson aka "Watty" at school with me. He makes for a great teaching assistant! He is 10 years old and loves school and fetch more than anything else in the world.
Being an ag teacher and FFA advisor means I have the best job on campus! I am responsible for teaching vet med applications, vet practicum, equine science/small animal management, livestock production and advanced animal science. No two days are the same and I wouldn't have it any other way. My FFA responsibilities include supervising our student leaders, coaching multiple leadership development and career development teams (with my pride and joy being vet science), as well as developing public speakers, assisting with recordkeeping, and whatever else the year brings me!
When I'm not teaching or competing with Vandegrift FFA, I'm at home with my family. My teaching responsibilities, FFA advisor role, and being a mom keep me busy. If you ever need to contact me, email is usually the best as I am not always available at my extension. If you do need to call, please do so during my conference period. I try my best to respond to all correspondence within 24 hrs.

Google Classroom Resources
Parents and Guardians,
We will be using Google Classroom for the 2025-2026 school year. As a parent/guardian, you can be invited to join our Google Classroom in order to receive important classroom information. All you need to do is share your preferred email address with your student and you will receive an invitation to join our Google Classroom.
What does this mean exactly? When parents/guardians join a student’s Google Classroom, they receive regular, automatic email summaries. Parents/Guardians choose the frequency of the emails—daily or weekly—and can unsubscribe at any time. Note: Daily means Monday to Friday. You won't receive email summaries on Saturdays or Sundays.
The Google Guardian Email Summaries include:
Missing work—Work that’s late at the time the email was sent
Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or work that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails)
Class activity—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers
Thanks for supporting your student and joining our Google Classroom to receive daily or weekly email summaries!
