Howdy Lions,
I'm Mr. Mancuso! I was born in Warren, Michigan and have lived all over Texas: San Antonio (elementary), Houston (6th grade through high school), San Marcos for college and Austin/Cedar Park ever since!!!
I was lucky enough to go on a high school tour to Germany in 1990 when the Berlin wall was beign torn down. I have several pieces of the wall in my "relics" collection for you to view. I love travel and believe it helps build your perspective!
I went to college at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas (now Texas State) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Geography. I worked for ten years at various sales and management jobs at companies such as Dell, Leap Frog School House, and several mortgage companies and banks helping people buy, sell, and refinance houses. After the mortgage bubble busted, I went to graduate school at Texas State in Round Rock for my Masters of Education degree and teacher certification. I'm married to my lovely wife, Brandi, and have four children: Jaimie, Eric-Anthony, Madison, and Mason.
I enjoy Rock & Roll, wake boarding, snow boarding, and playing the drums. I hope you enjoy AP Human Geography and take away a love for learning.
In 2025 I was happy to have 91% of my students pass the AP test and get college credit. However, only 70% of my students passed last year- I believe alot of that was because of ChatGPT and students using ARTIFICIAL Intelligence, and not their OWN intelligence. Fact is, you can't use AI on the exam, and many students used AI to do the work, instead of doing it on the old fashioned way. I expect to get back to a 90% pass rate for 2027! The state of Texas had about 50% of students pass the exam! This will be the hardest class you take this year. This means you will work harder than you ever have before. But the work will pay off when you use Human Geography throughout your life! Enjoy the class!!!
