Dear Band Member,
Congratulations! If you have received this letter from your director, then you will be participating in the 2024 TMEA All-District Band Auditions on Saturday, October 25th. As noted in our band handbook, since you are attending the district auditions then attendance at the Annual District Band Play-a-Thon is required. The Play-a-thon will take place on:
Friday, October 3rd, 6:00-9:15 p.m.
at Henry Middle School
The CPMS and HMS Bands have invested in hiring an outstanding staff of Master Class Instructors that will be giving feedback and instruction to you. Most of these teachers are not your normal lesson teachers or band directors that you get feedback from, so you will be receiving a fresh perspective on the preparation and refinement of the District Band Audition Music.
We also want this to be an evening of fun for you, a reward for the hard work that you have already put in and a lot motivation to continue working for the remaining weeks leading up to the district auditions. You will need your INSTRUMENT with TUNER, DISTRICT MUSIC, PENCIL and the snack listed below to share with everyone.
While in the Gym, enjoy games and friendship with the other band students, but please keep the Gym clean at all times. While in the Cafeteria, enjoy snacks but If you make a mess, clean it up! If your neighbor makes a mess, help them clean it up. Please bring a board game or card game to play with your friends and have a ride home arranged promptly at 9:15 p.m. We are so proud of each of you! Keep practicing and working hard!
