"What are WSR's?"
This stands for Weekly Spiral Reviews. These are weekly assignments that are assigned every Monday and due the following Monday. Each homework has about 10 questions that review past and current material we are learning class. This is to help students keep these topics fresh in their brain!
"How does my child turn in their WSR?"
Students will be given a physical copy of the WSR each week during class and are expected to enter their answers into Formative. Each time they enter their answer, it will turn green if it's correct and red if it's wrong. When students finish all questions, they must turn in BOTH the Formative online and their paper in class.
"What if my child loses their WSR paper?"
They can ask for an extra copy during class. If there are no more copies, students need to show their work neatly for each question on a blank sheet of paper. Formative will also have the questions they can look at.
"Can my child turn in a WSR late?"
Yes! I always encourage students to turn in late work rather than not do it at all. I will accept them at any point as long as it is during the current grading cycle.
"Can my child retake an exit ticket?"
Instead of retaking the exit ticket with the same questions, I will provide new questions that can help them earn a check towards developing, mastery, and/or advanced. Students will need to communicate with me about what they need in person/email and I will help them!
"How many times can my child get questions to reach developing, mastery, or advanced?"
Students can come in however many times they need. I do not have a limit. However, if I see they are struggling, I will require them to attend tutorials to relearn the topic then we can proceed with extra questions.
"Where can I access class notes?"
Depending whether your child is in Math 7 or Math 7/8, please go to the appropriate calendar tab on this website that is specific for which class they are in.
