WHAT DO I WEAR TO PRACTICE? 2023-2024

DIAMONDS PRACTICE WEAR POLICIES

Each day of the week you are required to wear a specific outfit for practice. Please remember that demerits may be given out for not wearing the correct outfit to practice.

**This same outfit schedule applies to each day of dressing out in your dance team class period!

*GAME DAYS: 

On game days you need to wear your Black Diamonds jersey with a black tank top underneath it, and either leggings, jeans, or jean shorts, or jean skirts (appropriate length and must be black or blue).  

**THERE IS NO WRITING WITH MARKER ON FACES, ARMS, etc. OR FACE PAINTING ON GAME DAYS!

Demerits will be given out if a member paints their face or writes on themselves during the school day.

*DAILY OUTFITS:

Poms and Jazz Shoes are required items for all practices!

Monday: White flowy tank with black print "HMS Dance" on front, black leggings.

Tuesday: Black fitted tank, black  shorts.

*Wednesday: Because we normally don't practice on Wednesdays during football season, you may wear any athletic/ dance clothes to practice as long as it's ALL BLACK. (This will remain once football season is over and we resume Wednesday morning rehearsals.)

Thursday:  Flowy black tank and tank, black leggings. 

Friday:  Black muscle tank with gold Diamond on the front, black dance shorts. 

When we have cold practices outside, you may wear your Black Diamonds jacket (and a coat if needed), and anything warm on your legs! Tennis shoes will be required as well.

 **You MUST wear a black sports bra with ALL team wear! You will receive a demerit for wearing a regular bra with your practice wear tops.

**LABEL YOUR CLOTHING!! You will learn quickly that your belongings will easily be confused with someone else’s / can get mixed up with others, or will DISAPPEAR if they are not kept up with. Labeling your clothing by putting your NAME OR INITIALS on the tags & inside your shoes is VERY helpful in returning your clothing to you should it get lost or mixed up with someone else’s.  If you lose it, you have to buy another one, and this stuff is expensive and takes TIME that you may not have if you need the item for an upcoming practice or performance. You also face the possibility of not performing if you don’t have the required items!

**OFFICERS - You need to follow the above outline for what to wear - you will wear exactly what the rest of the team is wearing each day.

**You should NOT be wearing dance clothing or shoes during the school day when you are not in Dance class . (Team jackets and Jerseys are an exception). If you are dress-coded during the school day you are NOT allowed to come into the dance room and change into jazz pants or warm up pants.

**Your own black tennis shoes are your "team tennis shoes".

**DO NOT WEAR ANY DANCE PAWS,ETC AT PRACTICE UNLESS INSTRUCTED TO DO SO- JAZZ SHOES AND TEAM TENNIS SHOES ONLY!

**TAN jazz shoes will be used for ALL performances excluding hip-hop and contemporary.
