- Tryouts will consist of pre qualification on the range and two nine-hole rounds of golf during the second week of school (players will walk each round). Players must show proficiency on the range in order to attempt qualification on the course.
- Totals from each day will be added together for the final score. There are no exemptions. All golfers wanting to play for Glenn will be required to go through tryouts. The following are the requirements for making the Varsity Team in addition to appropriate demeanor and attitude:
Varsity Boys – The minimum scoring criteria for competition:
Freshman and sophomores (boys must break 18-hole total of 95)
Juniors and seniors (boys must break 18-hole total of 90)
Varsity Girls – The minimum scoring criteria for competition:
(Girls must break 18-hole total of 100)
If boys or girls finish but do not meet the 18-hole scoring requirements for the Varsity Team (see above), they will be allowed on the Junior Varsity team. Both Girls & Boys, Junior & Varsity players will have a chance to compete throughout the season. All players must go through a second qualifier at the beginning of Spring for reevaluation. Any players who are new to sport and are not ready for competition will be assigned to the practice squad for additional coaching.
Attire:
All boys will be expected to wear khaki/navy/black/white shorts (no jeans), a collared shirt and a belt. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. All girls will be expected to wear khaki/navy/black/white shorts/skirt/skort and a collared shirt. Players will have to provide their own clubs, balls and ride home from the course each day.
