Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is an intentional approach to cultivate a caring, participatory, and equitable learning environment through evidence-based practices that actively involve all students in their social, emotional, and academic growth. This approach infuses social and emotional learning into every part of students’ daily lives so that children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
