Hello proud parents and sweet students!

Words cannot describe how excited I am to get the year going with a new class and a new journey. I cannot wait to meet everyone and hear their story on why they are here at Westside in Leander ISD.

I'm not sure if it's the luck of the Irish but I was chosen by Leander to teach my first year at Westside elementary just two years ago. A program called Texas State Teacher Fellows gave me the opportunity to teach in the best school district around and on top of that, the best school. Jumping into the river in August of 2016 put the final touches on receiving my Master's Degree at Texas State. Going into my third year may not sound like I have a lot of experience but I can't tell you how much I have learned not only from my students the past two years but my fellow staff members and good ol' trial and error!

Traveling all along the East Coast as a child really made me fall in love with the idea of traveling. Being a Navy brat I learned to be flexible in all forms of life. Once I landed my feet flat in Bulverde, Texas and called it home for the next 12 years I made lifelong friends and became who I am today. I worked for H.E.B. for 9 years (paid the bills) before I became a teacher and graduated from Texas State with my Bachelor's Degree.

My family and friends helped support me more than I could have ever asked for the past two years; that includes my handsome boyfriend, Micah. He and I spend a lot of time outside hiking, kayaking, playing sports, SUPing, and working on the yard and garden. Inside we find ourselves playing music, listening to records, binge watching Netflix, playing board games, and cooking (well I eat, he cooks). We spend a lot of time with all 5 of our amazing chickens; we have Mrs. Cluckers, HeiHei, Amelia, Kanga, and Roo. all five of them give us beautiful eggs that we are thankful for everyday! A perfect day would be to go to the farmer's market first thing in the morning, venture down to downtown Austin, grab an amazing Impossible burger at Hopdoddy's, and go see a band play some awesome music.

Now that you know a bit about myself I look forward to hearing from all of you and getting to know your amazing backgrounds and aspirations. Let's get this year started!
