Dear Families,
Hello and welcome to fourth grade! I am thrilled to have your child in my class this year and am really looking forward to all we are going to do! Your child is going to grow so much as a reader, writer, and leader this year!
I can’t wait to get to know you and your child better, but first, here’s a little bit about me: I grew up in small town Columbus, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin...Hook 'em!!! After spending a year in Wilmington, Delaware as a member of a volunteer corps, I began teaching. This will be my twelfth year to teach elementary school! When I’m not in my classroom, you might find me eating out with my husband Cat and our sweet son Maverick (who will turn 4 in January), reading something inspirational, or listening to some live music. I also enjoy relaxing at my parents’ bay house in Sargent, Texas, and especially enjoy watching the sun rise over the water!
I believe that a classroom’s foundation is structure, a sense of community, and a variety of learning experiences. It is important to me that your child feels safe and valued as a member of the class. We will work hard throughout the year to develop a strong community of learners and leaders, a community that includes you! Please feel free to contact me any time you have a question, concern, or if you’d just like to visit. My daily conference time is 9:05-9:50 am and I check email often (although it may be 24-48 hours until I am able to reply). I look forward to working with you to help your child meet their potential and have a successful fourth grade year!
