We support parent involvement in book choice and appreciate when families are sharing their literacy lives. 

When reading whole-class novels, teachers will choose from the district-approved list. The decision to use a whole-class novel depends on your student's teacher. Teachers will gauge the needs of each of their classrooms before choosing a novel for the class. If your child's teacher decides to use a whole-class novel, they will inform parents via email of the book selection prior to beginning the Unit. 

When participating in book clubs, students, teachers, and parents work together to make sure a book is a good fit for the student and their family. The titles for our fall and spring book clubs are linked below. Prior to your student submitting titles of interest to their teacher, please review the choice selections with them.  For additional book reviews, parents and students might consider visiting commonsensemedia.org, Goodreads, and Amazon. 

It is our goal for each student and their family to feel comfortable reading and analyzing texts, and for open lines of communication to exist. We appreciate all of your support!
