How are new members selected?
New members are selected based on their first semester cumulative average in all four content area classes after their first semester of 7th grade. Students will then serve as active members of NJHS during their 8th grade year.
February: Notification of Invitation
All seventh grade students with a cumulative average of 90.00% in their four core classes will receive an initiation via email. Students who receive an email are asked to read the email invitation in its entirety before completing an application for this chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.
March: Candidate Application Deadline
All candidates who wish to be considered for membership to the DMS chapter of NJHS must have their application submitted in its entirety by the date and time specified above and on the application. Students who turn in incomplete applications, or miss the deadline will not be considered for membership.
Additionally, each student should ensure that both teacher recommendation forms have emailed to two current teachers of their choosing by this date and time.
April: Notification of Faculty Decision
Candidates who are selected as members to the DMS chapter of NJHS will be notified of this decision via email. All emails will be sent by 4:30 PM on the date specified above.
April/May: New Member Induction Ceremony
All members of the Danielson NJHS chapter are invited to attend the Chapter Induction Ceremony (date to be determined). The induction will be held in the DMS Union.
