At Canyon Ridge, our NJHS chapter is committed to serving our school and local community, while also building leadership skills. Here are some of the activities we've completed this year.
Boo Bags: Service Activity
NJHS students came together for their annual 'Boo Bag' event, stuffing festive bags with treats to sell at Cups and Cones. This year's team chose to donate the proceeds to the Miracle Foundation, supporting children in need. The event combined community spirit, teamwork, and giving back – a perfect kickoff to the season!
NJHS Leadership Workshop: Meeting
NJHS members joined a fun workshop with our leadership teacher, Ms. Swell Cihal. Students learned teamwork and leadership skills to make a positive impact.
Thanks, Ms. Cihal, for helping us grow as leaders!
Veterans Day at CRMS: Service
NJHS members proudly support our veterans this year, volunteering at the Veterans Day event to honor those who have served. Thank you to our students for helping make this a memorable day of gratitude and respect!
Any Baby Can Tote Bag Painting Activity : Service
NJHS volunteers dedicated their Saturday to painting tote bags, which the club will donate to the Any Baby Can Foundation. The activity was a meaningful opportunity for students to give back to the community while showcasing their creativity. Each tote bag was uniquely designed, and the volunteers worked together to make sure every one of them was filled with vibrant colors and positive messages. The donation of these bags will help support families in need, and the volunteers were proud to contribute to such a worthy cause.
Military Care Package: Service & Citizenship
The NJHS donated items and wrote letters to send to our dedicated and hardworking military personnel overseas. We sent six care packages for them to enjoy goods from home .
California Fire Donation: Service & Citizenship
In partnership with the Robotics Club, we reached out to the entire community, urging them to donate both goods and monetary contributions to aid the victims of the California wildfires. Thanks to the generous support of our community members, we were able to raise a total of $855.25. This amount has been donated through the Direct Relief Foundation, which will use the funds to provide much-needed assistance to the local communities in California affected by the devastating fires. We are proud to have played a role in supporting those in need during this challenging time and are deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity of all who contributed.

Longhorn Village Valentine Project : Service & Citizenship
In partnership with Longhorn Village, we shared love and friendship with its residents in a heartfelt way. Our members wrote letters, made friendship bracelets, and packed sweet treats to bring joy to the community. This initiative helped create a meaningful connection between generations, fostering warmth and kindness. Through this act of service, we were able to spread happiness and strengthen our bond with the residents, making the month of love even more special.
