Why are the classes separated by gender?
Choir classes are typically separated by gender in middle schools, due to the difference in material, vocal ranges, and vocal development.
Do you offer voice lessons?
Yes! At the beginning of every year, we have voice lesson enrollment online. Your child will be paired with an experienced outside vocal teacher and will meet for lessons during each student's class once a week. More information can be found under the "Voice Lessons" tab.
What kind of communication do you offer between parents, students, and directors?
Email is our main communication tool. We also use Remind to communicate on the day of events and for simple reminders. We are always available via email or phone call.
What is the uniform?
Everyone in the choir program will need a choir t-shirt, which can be purchased at the beginning of the year in the BOY Packet received in the first week of school. The BOY Packet can also be found in the "Forms" section of this website. Formal uniforms are listed below:

Are concerts required?
Yes. All performances of the CPMS choirs are mandatory because they are part of the choir TEKS and the school curriculum. Any changes or additions in calendar dates will be emailed to parents and placed on the choir website. All schedule conflicts will be handled on an individual basis, but it is a requirement and expectation that all choir members attend all applicable choir concerts.
