Megan Weston is thrilled to be starting her 17th year of teaching and 6th year with the CPMS choir program. Mrs. Weston is a native of Louisville, Kentucky where she taught choir and general music for 8 years prior to moving to Cedar Park in 2016. Mrs. Weston was also the head director at Four Points Middle School from 2016 - 2019. This year Mrs. Weston will be the lead director for the 6th Grade Treble choir and Varsity Choirs.
Mrs. Weston is a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she earned a bachelors of music in music education (2008) and a Masters of music in music education, emphasis in choral conducting (2016). While in college, she was a member of the UK Chorale, UK Women’s Choir, and pop a cappella ensemble Paws N Listen. In her time as a music educator, Mrs. Weston has had students selected for honor choirs at the region, state, national and international level. She has also served as a adjudicator for Large Group Choral Assessments as well as Solo and Ensemble contests. In 2016, she was selected to present a session at the KMEA Annual Convention titled “Building a Quality Middle School Choral Community”.
Mrs. Weston has been married to her husband Keith for 16 years and they have three children. Her daughter Leah is a 7th grade choir member and she has 6 year old twins, William and Wyatt. She also enjoys playing volleyball and getting in a good nap whenever she can!

Sarah Kumengi is thrilled to serve on the Cedar Park Middle School fine arts staff as the Associate Choir Director! This is her third year at CPMS and her 6th year in LISD. Prior to her move to CPMS she spent 3 years teaching Performing Arts at Westside Elementary, where she also founded and directed the Westside Find Your Voice Choir. This year she looks forward to directing the 6th Grade Cambiata choir as well as the JV Tenor/Bass and Treble choirs.
Mrs. Kumengi grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended the Baldwin-Wallace University Conservatory of Music, where she earned her Music Education degree in 2004. Prior to her time in Leander ISD, she taught elementary music and choir at Jo Ann Ford Elementary from 2005-2011 in Georgetown ISD while also working at the Georgetown Palace Theater as an actor, vocal director of numerous musicals and a vocal instructor for their summer musical theater camps. Her most notable stage roles include playing the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Lucy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She was also a member and featured soloist of the Round Rock Community Choir from 2008-2011. In addition to her classroom and performance experience, she has taught private voice and piano lessons in both Cleveland and the Cedar Park community.
Mrs. Kumengi has been married to her husband George for 20 years and they are the proud parents of Henry, Nathan and Natalie. They live in Cedar Park where their children attend Westside Elementary, Cedar Park Middle School and Cedar Park High School.
