The Work Experience Program provides students the opportunity to attend school while obtaining employment experience. Admission criterion includes the IEP team’s recommendation, review of attendance, discipline, and academic records. Students planning to enter the job market following graduation can learn entry level skills through supervised job training. Students desiring to enroll in the program for the first semester, must complete an application with the transition coordinator. Students are required to work 15 hours per school week (paid). Students will be evaluated by their employer, as well as by the Work Experience Coordinator, who will visit on site and will communicate with the student’s work supervisor.
1922 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

This is a student initiated, career experience in which the student serves as an intern under the supervision of a mentor. Students have the opportunity to participate in work-based career experience and earn credits towards graduation. Interested students are selected on the basis of attendance, academic achievement, behavior and IEP team recommendations. Students are responsible for keeping a daily journal to be submitted weekly. This is a paid OR non-paid internship to learn skills that apply to a chosen career path. This program is based on cooperative arrangements between the school and local businesses. All internship placements must be pre-approved by the Work Experience Coordinator. Students are required to work 10 hours per school week. Students will be evaluated by their mentor, as well as by the Work Experience Coordinator, who will visit on site and will communicate with the student’s internship supervisor.
