Ms. Nokes

School Psychologist

Boozhoo, Lac du Flambeau Families!
It is my honor and pleasure to be here, now serving the Lac du Flambeau community since 2022.  I am an official descendant of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, and as well as a member of the Oneida Nation of WI.  I have been fortunate to have experience as a school psychologist in all kinds of public school settings, since the year 2000, including rural, urban, and suburban settings, as well as on the Menominee Indian Reservation during my internship year.  My Master's and Education Specialist degrees are from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  I have gone the extra step to become a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and maintained that ongoing level of professional development since 2003.
One of my special areas of interest is reading, and ensuring that all students obtain a level of reading that allows them independence in this life, and the ability to attend to their needs and dreams meaningfully.  Another special interest I have is our emotional life, and how to develop skills to have the healthiest relationships with ourselves and other people that we can.
I look forward to ongoing connection with students, parents and guardians, teachers, and administrators, as we work together to help our students grow into their strongest and healthiest, from their Early Childhood through 8th grade years!

I work in a hybrid fashion, working virtually much of the time, along with in-person visits to Lac du Flambeau for evaluation, counseling, and teacher consultation.  I live in the Greater Milwaukee area.
I welcome parent and guardian phone calls for support with academic, social, emotional, or behavioral concerns.
