Reading homework is to complete independent reading. Students will receive a reading log on Monday that is due every Friday. If the log is lost, please send a signed note with the total minutes that were read. Students are highly encouraged to read at least 20 minutes every night. If a student is in need of reading materials to take home please let us know. Research shows that the amount children read contributes significantly to their verbal intelligence. Please contact Mrs. Wyngard if you have any concerns or questions.
Every Friday there will be a reading, spelling, and math quiz that assess the key words/concepts covered that week. There will be one quiz taken every week in Achieve 3000. This program provides articles at your child's reading level. Your child reads the article and then answers 8 comprehension questions. Science and Social Studies Assessments take place at the end of every unit. There will be reading and math assessments at the end of each unit.
