Class Rules

1. Listen while the speaker is talking.

2. Follow directions quickly.

3. Respect others, yourself, and your school.

4. Raise your hand to speak or stand.

In order to guarantee your child—and all the students in our classroom—the safe, supportive, productive learning climate they deserve, we will be utilizing a combination of tools to monitor behavior. The purpose is to encourage positive behavior in a community of mutual respect, while discouraging negative behavior. Raise the praise! Minimize the criticize.

Rewards

Punch Cards-Room 1 students will earn a punch on their punch card for making good decisions. When they fill in their punch card, they can trade it in for Class Coupons or preferred activities.

Class Coupons-These coupons give students access for a day to a fun activity or privilege of their choice such as Lunch Bunch, Free Seat Choice, Lose the Shoes, Fluffy Friend, and so on.

Table Points-When an entire table or row is following directions quickly, they will earn table points. The table(s) will earn a reward when they meet their points goal.

Smart Cookie Jar-When the whole class is making responsible choices, they will earn a "smart cookie." When they have filled the jar, they can decide on a class-wide reward.

Caught Doing The Right Thing-This is a school-wide individual incentive. Any staff member may give a student a Caught Doing the Right Thing ticket. Students will enter their ticket into a raffle, and prizes will be handed out on Spirit Rally days.

Panther Points-This is another school-wide incentive, but for the whole class. When a staff member (other than the classroom teacher) notices an entire class making responsible decisions, they will reward the class with a Panther Point. When the class reaches a certain benchmark number of points, they will earn prizes like extra recess time or Popsicle parties.
