Parent/Guardian Resources

To my amazing counseling students & parents/guardians,

I hope that you are able to feel peaceful and be in your green zone during this time when you are able to learn from home and spend time with loved ones. I want to encourage you to continue to use your tools. Parents, please practice one tool with your child everyday for 2-5 minutes. Check out the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Lessons to learn about being in the green zone (ready-to-learn/calm zone) from the Zones of Regulation curriculum. Parents/guardians can model how to use coping tools, positive self-talk, and problem-solving by verbally narrating aloud the process YOU are taking to self-regulate or problem-solve.
