Accelerated Reader:
Accelerated Reader (AR) helps students select great books to read independently. Each student is expected to read daily, and understand their reading level so that he/she can better choose level-appropriate books. After a book is read independently, a student logs on to the "Accelerated Reader" Website to take a short comprehension quiz on the book they just completed. All students are expected to complete one AR book each trimester. In addition to the AR quiz, students will complete a "book project" at the end of the second and fourth trimester.Â
