All About Mrs. Fuelling

Dear Parents and Students of Room 23,

My name is Annette Fuelling, and I look forward to an exciting 2023-2024 school year. By way of background, I have taught within the La Cañada Unified School District (LCUSD) for the past several years, have over 20 years of teaching experience at the elementary grade level, and hold a degree in Education from the University of Southern California (USC). Ten years ago, I received a certificate in Differentiated Curriculum for Gifted and High Achieving Students from USC, and I enjoy implementing these strategies with my students. Over the past few years, I have attended a number of conferences to learn about Google Apps for Education and am an official "Google Educator." I am excited for our 5th Grade students to continue with our 1:1 Chromebook Program and the opportunities it provides. As an educator, my goal is for each student to embrace the "Love of Learning." I pride myself on providing a positive learning environment for my students to grow academically, socially, and personally.

On a personal note, I have lived in La Cañada for the past 26 years, and I am proud of our community and incredible school district. I am the only woman in a household of men that includes my wonderful husband, three active boys, and my loving puppies- George, my Old English Sheepdog, and Gus, my Black Labrador. These men keep me on my toes and can drive me crazy sometimes, but I would not trade them for anything. All three of my boys attended La Cañada Elementary. It's hard to believe, but my boys are growing up! My oldest son, Robbie, is a sports reporter for Spectrum News in Dallas, Texas. My second son, Mike, is an industrial real estate broker for CBRE, and my youngest son, Daniel, will start his senior year at Texas Christian University. I am proud to be a "Trojan," and frequently attend USC sporting events, and love going to Dodger Games with my family. I am learning how to play golf and enjoy playing with my boys. When time permits, we also travel to Mammoth Lakes and love to hike, bike, and ski in the beautiful Sierras.

I'm looking forward to a fabulous school year!
