Dear Parents and Students of Room 23,
Welcome to Room 23! My name is Annette Fuelling, and I am excited to begin the 2026–2027 school year with you.
A little about me—I have been teaching in the La Cañada Unified School District for many years and have more than 23 years of experience teaching at the elementary level. I earned my degree in Education from the University of Southern California (USC) and later completed a certificate in Differentiated Curriculum for Gifted and High-Achieving Students through USC. I enjoy incorporating these strategies into my classroom to challenge and support every learner.
As an educator, my goal is for every student to develop a genuine love of learning. I strive to create a positive, engaging classroom where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow academically, socially, and personally.
On a personal note, my family and I have lived in La Cañada for the past 29 years, and I am incredibly grateful to be part of such a wonderful community and outstanding school district. I am the only woman in a household full of men—my wonderful husband, our three sons, and our two lovable dogs, George, an Old English Sheepdog, and Gus, a Black Labrador! Life is always busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
All three of my sons attended La Cañada Elementary, and it is amazing to see how quickly they have grown up. My oldest son, Robbie, recently earned his MBA from Texas Christian University (TCU) and now works for a technology company in Austin, Texas. My second son, Mike, is an industrial real estate broker with CBRE and enjoys living on the Westside. My youngest son, Daniel, is completing his degree at TCU.
Outside of the classroom, I am a proud Trojan and enjoy attending USC sporting events. I also love spending time with my family at Dodger games and am learning to play golf with my boys. When time allows, we enjoy traveling to Mammoth Lakes, where we spend our days hiking, biking, and skiing in the beautiful Sierra Nevada.
I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and partnering with your family for a wonderful year of learning, growth, and memorable experiences. Here's to a fantastic 5th grade year!
Warmly,
Annette Fuelling
