WE PLAY RECORDERS IN THIRD GRADE!
INSTRUMENT PURCHASE
Each student will need their own recorder. Some local stores where you may find recorders are Bertrand’s Music (formerly Old Town Music Co.), 145 Vista Ave., in Pasadena, Grayson’s Tunetown, 2415 Honolulu Ave., Montrose, and on Amazon.com. The cost is about $9.
Please make sure to purchase a plastic soprano recorder and not a wooden one.
Students are responsible for bringing their recorders to school every week for their music class. Because it is a wind instrument, we cannot share instruments and do not have any extras in class.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Mr. Moy at mmoy@lcusd.net.
Our class will need recorders at school every MONDAY. (Keep recorders in backpacks in case of make-up classes and recorder tests.)
Students may only play recorders in the music room under Mr. Moy's direction.
Students may NOT play recorders in other areas of campus:
Carline
Playground
Pavilion
Walkways
CEC
Students are encouraged to practice several times per week at home (at least two times a week).
Students should discuss with their parents the appropriate times and places for practicing their recorders.
This is the Recorder Karate Sheet Music. Mr. Moy encourages students to practice at least twice a week at home. (Students should discuss with their families the appropriate times and places to practice their recorders.)
