Welcome to 3rd Grade!

My name is Lisa Marie Balane. Former students will remember me as Miss De Leon. :) This is my 19th year teaching third grade in LCUSD. I earned my B.A. from UC Irvine and M.A. Ed and Teaching Credential from Pepperdine University. 

Organization and responsibility are the keys to third grade success. I love helping students learn how to use an agenda. Keeping track of many different assignments and their materials is a big part of third grade. I have also been a Google Certified Level 1 Educator, CUE Rock Star Teacher, and Epic! Certified Teacher. To me, third grade is a balance of treasuring the last year of the primary grades while preparing for the demands of the upper grades. I am here to help students grow.

I am lucky to share my life with my husband, two daughters, and lots of extended family! 

Lastly, I love music (I sing and my husband plays guitar), traveling, reading on my Kindle, eating Filipino desserts, and drinking lots of coffee. And of course, I love teaching!
