LHS will be offering the Preliminary Scholarship Aptitude Test (PSAT) on October 29th 

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).  Each year, Collegeboard awards 300 million dollars in scholarships.  High-achieving juniors are automatically entered by taking the test, and top-scoring students can earn national recognition, corporate-sponsored awards, and college-specific scholarships.

• Sophomores - Next year, as a junior, you will have the opportunity to take the PSAT as a National Merit Scholarship earning exam.  So why take it now ?  Statistically speaking, students usually raise their scores 2-3 points on average on their second attempt of the exam.  This opportunity will allow you to see the type and format of the questions, so next year when your scores would qualify for scholarship monies, you should be better prepared.  

• Juniors - As mentioned, each year, Collegeboard awards 300 million dollars in scholarships.  High-achieving juniors are automatically entered by taking the test, and top-scoring students can earn national recognition, corporate-sponsored awards, and college-specific scholarships.  This is your chance to qualify for these monies !!!

These exams cost approximately $18 (added to your student fees).

Registration will close on September 14th* or when 50 participants sign up, whichever occurs first.

*Any student with IEP or 504 accommodations must submit this form by September 8th AND indicate the need for accommodations with the check box.
