Sign Up For the ACT
If you did not take it as a junior, or if you are not satisfied with your score. Some schools have a minimum ACT score as a requirement for acceptance.
LHS will be offering a Senior-Only ACT Opportunity on October 17th and 31st. More information to come via email.
The Oct. 28th test may be the final qualifying test for admission. CHECK WITH YOUR COLLEGE OF CHOICE.
The December 9th test may still be an option for scholarships.

Start Applying
Start applying to the schools that you are considering. Make sure to take your time during the application process. Avoid the small, silly errors. Also, many schools require an application fee. Check with your school counselor to see if you qualify for a fee waiver.
Don't forget to request a transcript!

Letters of Recommendation
Think about the people you want to ask for letters of recommendation. Think about teachers, school counselors, coaches, and employers. Make sure you ask them with at least a two week notice. Remember-be very grateful for their help!
Get your letter of rec from your counselor rolling with a BRAG SHEET.
Fill Out Your FAFSA
(Free Application for Federal Student Aid). You want to do this as soon as possible. Remember: there are many resources where you can get help filling out the FAFSA if you need it. Talk to your guidance counselor if you have concerns.

Continue Your College Search!
You may still not be decided on what college you want to go to. Continue to do your research and start narrowing down your options.
Start Looking into Scholarships
There are both local and national scholarships. You need to apply for as many scholarships as you possibly can. They aren’t always easy to come by. Start the investigation now! Remember: you are not alone. Your school counselor can be of great assistance during this process.

Keep Track of Deadlines
Many scholarship deadlines will be creeping up on you soon. Make sure you don’t miss out on applying to scholarships or applying to your favorite school.
Student Aid Report
It should arrive 4 weeks after you file your FAFSA.
Compare Financial Aid Packages
Compare financial aid packages from the different schools that you are considering. This can help you determine what school you want to attend.
Make the Final Decision!
Notify the schools that you applied for but are not going to attend of your decision. Make sure your final transcript is sent in to the school of your choice.
