they are children and young adults between the ages of 8-21 who have developmental disabilities. They complete an application that asks about their interests, activities they would like to join, and supports they would need to be successful. The TIES coordinator (Betsy Massie) works with the participant and their family to develop an individualized plan to guide the Peer Volunteer's support.
TIES promotes participation of students and young adults who have developmental disabilities in inclusive, organized extracurricular and community activities with the support of trained student volunteers.

A participant is a child who has a disability and is the ages between 8-21. We include up to 21 years old because an IEP lasts until a child is 21.
