Class Description:

English I Honors will provide a foundation for learning in language arts that students can build upon as they transition from middle school to high school. Students will work to achieve the South Carolina Standards for 9th Grade. In addition, honors students will cover a variety of extended material, be expected to work at a much quicker pace, be expected to read more than one piece of literature simultaneously, and be able to work collaboratively in a more discovery learning based atmosphere. The purpose of English I Honors is to prepare students for Advanced Placement level courses in high school. Students taking honors English must be committed to the rigor of this course.
