About Me:

The best teachers teach from the heart not simply a book. I believe that teaching is a gift from God and it is simply my pleasure to do as I have been directed. This is my 24th year teaching and I am still excited about being a part of the lives of young people.

Although I am not a Lancaster native, I have been here for over 24 wonderful years. Even though I am originally from Bamberg, South Carolina, the Lancaster community has embraced me and this has become my home away from home. I graduated from Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School(home of the Mighty Red Raiders). I continued my education at Morris College where I earned a BA in English. I also received a Master's Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University.

My husband and I met in college and have been married for 20 years and together for over two decades. We have two wonderful daughters, Cameryn(13) and Camille(9). They are the blessings of our lives and we constantly see God's love for us manifested through them. We have been blessed with two amazing godchildren(Kinsley 1 and Phynix 1). We also have an energetic and extremely spoiled Boston Terrier, Cooper(Coop) who keeps us all very busy.

When I am not watching a good movie with my family. I love to read my Bible and journal while sitting on my sun porch with a cup of coffee. I also cherish opportunities to travel to my hometown and spend time with my mom, sister/brother in law, and nephews. We consider ourselves a softball family and LOVE watching our girls on the diamond. They play softball all year long and we all love it.

The mission statement for Morris College where I received my undergraduate degree stated; Enter to learn, depart to serve. This encompasses what I believe is my main role as a teacher. It is my duty to instill knowledge into my students; so that they leave A.R. Rucker and serve. Together we will have a great year.
