I am so excited to be starting my 12th year as a Special Education Resource Teacher at LHS. Previously, I have served as the Special Education Department Chair at various schools. I am a product of the Lancaster County School District. I graduated from Lancaster High School in 2000. Go Bruins!!!
My previous experiences in life led me to Winthrop University to acquire a bachelor degree in Special Education (learning/emotional disabilities). After working as a plant technician and not finding fulfillment in this position, I realized that I was happiest when I volunteered with AmeriCorps. I tutored first-grade students who struggled academically in math and/or reading. It was through this experience of tutoring students some of which were also being evaluated for Special Education services that I found my passion and happiness in helping students achieve their highest potential and thus began my journey to becoming a teacher.
I am a 2014 graduate of Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and a 2003 graduate of York Technical College with an Associate degree in Engineering. I'm Read Right and Read to Succeed certified. I'm currently pursuing an add on certification in ESOL from Winthrop University and an online Master's degree.
I have two sons, one is beginning his senior year in college and the other is busy tackling his responsibilities/goals in life. I also have been blessed with three lovely grandchildren.
I look forward to working with you this year as we "Grooooow together" by working together to make this a great year for your student.
