Welcome!!!
We are working this year to build strategies and skills in the areas of Reading, Writing and Math daily. We also use class time to assist students with their independent work from other classes as well as working on student's individualized education plan. Students earn 2 grades per wk. Quizzes and/or Test are usually given on Fridays. We also focus on Current Events every Friday as well.
In reading and writing this year we are working on...
-Reading Fluency (what excellent reading sounds like)
-Reading Comprehension (understanding what the author is saying in his or her writing)
-Oral Communication (speaking well)
-Communicating through Writing (how good writers write).
In math this year, we are focusing on building a good foundation in basic math skills such as....
-Algebra (basic algebra)
-Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, Dividing, Decimals, Integers, Fractions & Word Problems

FASTBRIDGE
EASYCBM
Please make sure your student reads daily.
Strategies at home to help improve your child's reading: If your student reads to fast, have them re-read the material and slow down. If your child reads a sentence wrong, have your child re-read the sentence again the correct way. Correct your child when he or she speaks incorrectly. Correctly speaking orally helps to improve your students reading fluency, comprehension and writing. Parents, please read complex text to your student aloud.
